Professor Richard Anderson is an experienced Consultant Cardiologist currently seeing private patients at Spire Cardiff Hospital, Nuffield Health Vale Hospital and Nuffield Health Cardiff Bay Hospital. He pursued his initial medical training at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in London, followed by a year of work in the same city before commencing senior house officer training in Cardiff. His registrar cardiology training took place in Cardiff and Swansea, with a dedicated year specialising in coronary intervention in Southampton, Toulouse, and Newcastle.

Having earned his Doctorate focusing on the influence of fatty meal ingestion on vascular function, Professor Anderson maintains ongoing research interests in coronary artery disease. He currently serves as a consultant interventional cardiologist at the University Hospital of Wales and Llandough Hospital.

Professor Anderson has specialist expertise in: hypertension management, atrial fibrillation and coronary artery disease, as well as cardiac catheterisation, blood pressure testing, cardiomemo recording, cardioversion, cholesterol level testing, coronary angioplasty, ECG monitoring, event recorder (24/48 hours), and exercise ECG.

He has the ability to make you feel at ease and explains process and medical conditions simply enabling you to understand your symptoms and the reason why you have them and what treatment he is going to give you to treat them.
