Mr Pavel Akimau

Mr Pavel Akimau is a highly respected Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University Hospitals of North Staffordshire NHS Trust. He runs a private practice at Nuffield Health North Staffordshire Hospital and North Bristol Private Hospital.

With a particular interest in Minimally Invasive foot surgery and advanced arthroscopic techniques, Mr Akimau is considered an expert in the Midlands region. He has received extensive training in Minimally Invasive Foot procedures and regularly collaborates with leading specialists in the UK, Germany, and France.

During his time at UHNM, Mr Akimau has introduced groundbreaking minimally invasive techniques for correcting bunions, lesser toe deformities, fixing calcaneal fractures, as well as treating insertional Achilles tendinopathy and chronic Achilles tendon ruptures using advanced arthroscopic procedures. He is one of the few surgeons in the UK successfully employing such a range of unique surgical techniques.

In addition, Mr Akimau is a leading specialist in Total Ankle Replacement in Staffordshire.

After graduating from a prestigious medical school in Belarus, he completed his early surgical training and then traveled to Japan. There, he earned a PhD in Medical Sciences from Osaka University Medical School, one of the country's top educational and scientific institutions. Following this, he underwent training in the UK and obtained a CCT in 2016 from the highly reputable South Yorkshire Trauma & Orthopaedics National Training Programme.
