Mr Costin-Brown was very supportive and answered my questions well but I think some more in depth warning of what to expect would be helpful. I was warned of the post-op pain but perhaps due to my age I have found the whole experience quite traumatic and overwhelming at times. I feel the surgery has gone well but it's too early to know how good the final outcome will be.

From the moment I first met Ashley at my first consultation, he put me completely at ease. He explained the process, which included showing the X-rays and comparing the procedure with my previous operation. When the unthinkable happened (my first operation needed to be cancelled at the point I was ready to be taken to the operating theatre) he personally took the time to explain the reason and scenario, rather than taking the easier option and sending someone else to do it. It finally took place a few weeks later, at the earliest opportunity. It was a total success, the scar was very tidy, and I was able to recover very quickly. Finally he took the time during my discharge consultation to make sure that I was happy with the whole procedure and what to do if I had any concerns over the next few months. I can’t praise him enough and would recommend him as a consultant to anyone who asked.

Mr Costin-Brown is very pleasant and is easy to talk to and explained everything fully and I was kept well informed during my operation, my stay in hospital and during the consultations. A very good surgeon.

A very caring man very pleasant considerate and knowledgeable explained in detail before and after the operation what will happen and what could happen made me feel very comfortable and confident of what was going to happen, I felt very relaxed before the operation and it was nice to see he paid me visits after the operation to see if I was okay and his advice on after care was invaluable.
