Dr Paul McNamara is an accomplished Paediatrician and Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare for infants, children, and young people. With a profound commitment to paediatric health, he focuses on diagnosing and managing a wide range of respiratory conditions. Dr McNamara provides compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to the unique physiological and emotional needs of young patients and their families.

Dr McNamara holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree alongside a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD), reflecting a strong foundation in both clinical practice and medical research. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) and serves as a Professor in Child Health. Throughout his career, he has combined academic rigour with clinical expertise to advance paediatric medicine and support the training of future medical professionals.

Specialising in paediatric respiratory medicine, Dr McNamara possesses extensive clinical expertise in managing complex conditions such as cystic fibrosis, bronchiolitis, childhood asthma, and wheezing disorders. He has a particular focus on addressing respiratory complications in children with complex health needs and severe neurodisability. His clinical work encompasses advanced interventions and management strategies, including non-invasive ventilation, endotracheal surfactant therapy, humidified oxygen therapy, and targeted antibiotic prophylaxis to prevent recurrent lower respiratory tract infections.
