Dr. Patricia Rios

Dr Patricia Rios is an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist who specialises in paediatric psychology and neurodevelopmental conditions. She provides comprehensive clinical assessments and therapeutic care for children, adolescents, and their families, offering compassionate and structured guidance tailored to each individual's unique needs. Her work focuses on delivering empathetic care to aid young people presenting with complex developmental and behavioural profiles.

Her clinical practice centres on the multidisciplinary assessment and management of autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and associated co-morbidities. Dr Rios is highly skilled in utilising gold-standard diagnostic instruments, including the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2). In addition to diagnostic evaluations, she conducts psycho-education workshops and delivers social skills interventions, drawing on structured frameworks such as the Programme for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) and Socially Thinking methodology to support social communication and relational development.

Dr Rios completed her academic and professional training across leading institutions. She earned a Master of Science in Child Development from the University of London Institute of Education in 1983, followed by a Diploma in Family Therapy from the Institute of Family Therapy in 1987. She subsequently obtained a Master of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from the University of Munich in 1993 and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from University College London in 1995. She was awarded a Certificate of Equivalence in Doctoral Clinical Psychology in 1997. Professionally, she is an Associate Fellow, Chartered Clinical Psychologist, and Chartered Scientist with the British Psychological Society.
