Dr Omer Ahmad is a highly acclaimed, multi-award-winning Consultant Gastroenterologist based at University College Hospital London (UCLH). He currently serves as the clinical co-lead for the North Central London Endoscopy Regional Network.

He is a specialist-accredited Colonoscopist for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, a role that demands strict accreditation and performance auditing. Beyond advanced endoscopic procedures, his practice also covers a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal disorders, including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (heartburn), bloating, and irritable bowel syndrome.
Dr Ahmad studied medicine at University College London, graduating with distinction in both clinical sciences and clinical practice, along with a First-Class Honours intercalated degree in Pharmacology. He received the A.J. Clark Prize for the best overall academic performance and was named to the prestigious Dean’s List.
He went on to complete an academic endoscopy fellowship and earned a PhD at UCL, where he developed pioneering artificial intelligence software for the early detection of gastrointestinal cancers, technology that is now used in clinical settings. Dr Ahmad and his team were fantastic. I submitted an enquiry form online and within 24 hours had a response from his team organising a same week appointment. Dr Ahmad was incredibly knowledgeable, reassuring and kind. I had my endonoscopy in under 24 hours from my first consultation and all ran smoothly thanks to him and the team.
Dr. Ahmad is truly compassionate and highly professional. I never felt rushed during my appointment, or treatment and he has explained everything clearly. It is rare to find a doctor who listens and so good at his sector .
