About Dr Noman Ali
Dr Noman Ali is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Leeds General Infirmary, appointed in 2022. He is fully trained in all aspects of general cardiology, with a specialist focus on interventional cardiology and the management of coronary artery disease. His expertise covers the investigation of chest pain, risk factor modification, and the treatment of symptoms using both pharmacological therapies and invasive coronary angioplasty.
In addition to his work in coronary intervention, Dr Ali has specialist expertise in the investigation and treatment of heart valve disease. He is one of only four consultants in Leeds with a focus on keyhole heart valve replacement procedures. To date, he has performed more than 4,000 coronary angiograms, 2,000 coronary angioplasties, and 500 transcatheter aortic valve implantations (TAVI).
Dr Ali graduated from the University of Nottingham and undertook postgraduate training in the East Midlands and West Yorkshire. He went on to complete a PhD at the University of Leeds and further developed his expertise in advanced interventional cardiology techniques during two years of specialist training in Toronto.
Alongside his NHS role, Dr Ali has a regular outpatient clinic at Spire Methley Park Hospital and undertakes procedures at Spire Manchester, where he performs coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty, and TAVI.
