Dr Adnan Nadir is a Consultant Cardiologist based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, with an honorary academic appointment as Associate Professor of Cardiology at the University of Birmingham. He is an internationally recognised specialist in structural and interventional cardiology, with particular expertise in minimally invasive heart valve therapies, including transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and MitraClip procedures.
Dr Nadir completed his medical and specialist cardiology training across the West Midlands and North West England, during which he was awarded a British Heart Foundation Fellowship focused on early detection and prevention of cardiovascular disease. His research in cardiovascular imaging and intervention has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to advancements in contemporary cardiac practice.
He subsequently undertook advanced subspecialty training at Mount Sinai Hospital, one of the leading cardiac centres globally, where he gained extensive experience in complex structural heart interventions and cutting-edge catheter-based therapies.
On returning to the UK, Dr Nadir established and now leads the transcatheter heart valve programme at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He also serves as Clinical Lead for Cardiology across Birmingham and Solihull, contributing to the development and organisation of regional cardiac services.
His clinical practice includes the diagnosis and management of chest pain, heart failure, valvular heart disease, arrhythmias, and preventative cardiology. Dr Nadir is a Fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology.
