Dr Nilar Myint

Dr Nilar Myint is a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality, and reassuring patient care. She works closely with multidisciplinary surgical teams to ensure that patients feel informed, comfortable, and fully supported throughout every stage of their perioperative journey. Her patient-centred approach focuses on tailoring anaesthetic techniques to individual medical needs, thereby optimising recovery and minimising post-operative discomfort.

In her clinical practice, Dr Myint has developed advanced expertise in ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia. By utilising real-time ultrasound technology, she performs targeted nerve blocks that provide precise local pain relief for a wide range of surgical procedures. This specialised approach helps reduce the necessity for strong systemic analgesics, enhances post-operative pain control, and supports a smoother, quicker recovery for patients undergoing surgery.

Dr Myint earned her Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci) and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) degrees from the University of Nottingham Medical School, qualifying in 2001. She subsequently completed her specialist training in Anaesthetics in London. In addition to holding the prestigious European Diploma of Regional Anaesthesia (EDRA), she is a Fellow of the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland (FCAI) and holds Membership of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (MRCA). She is also a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd) and maintains active memberships with the Royal College of Anaesthetists, the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland, the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Regional Anaesthesia UK.

Beyond her direct patient care duties, Dr Myint is deeply committed to clinical governance, safety standards, and medical education. As an active educator and supervisor to trainees, she mentors junior doctors in Anaesthetics and frequently shares her clinical knowledge through national and international presentations.
