Dr Damien Smith

Dr Damien Smith is a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia who sees patients at Fortius Clinic. He specialises in the assessment and treatment of chronic pain conditions, supporting patients with a wide range of concerns including lower back pain, cervical pain, radiculopathy, headaches and complex regional pain syndrome. He offers both interventional and non-interventional treatment options tailored to each patient’s needs. These include lumbar and cervical epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, nerve root injections and pulsed radiofrequency lesioning.

Dr Smith completed his medical degree at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School before training in anaesthesia and chronic pain in London. During this time, he undertook a fellowship in pain medicine at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. He has worked as a consultant since 2005 and currently serves as Lead Clinician for Pain Services at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and a member of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, the Association of Anaesthetists and the British Pain Society. Alongside his clinical roles, Dr Smith runs an online pain education platform used by consultants across the UK, Europe, the US and Australia. He has also expanded his work in the field of sports medicine and regularly supports professional and elite athletes with pain management and performance-related care.
