Miss Nikki Lack is a reassuring, calm, and empathetic doctor. She listens to patient concerns, providing clear explanations with her expertise. Her work ensures positive birth experiences during vaginal deliveries and C-sections, often transforming previous traumatic experiences. This comprehensive support for pregnancy highlights her value in private maternity care.
I honestly couldn’t recommend Nikki highly enough. I came under her care quite late in my pregnancy, at 36 weeks, for my third baby and my first experience of having a private delivery at The Portland Hospital. From the very beginning, she made me feel completely at ease. She was warm, reassuring and incredibly accessible throughout, which meant so much to me, particularly so late in my pregnancy. I always felt that I was in safe hands and that I could reach out if I had any concerns. My C-section and the delivery itself went incredibly smoothly, and most importantly, my baby arrived safely. My recovery has also been really positive and my scar has healed beautifully. Choosing to have my baby privately was a big decision, but I can genuinely say I have not had a single regret. The care and reassurance I received made the whole experience worth every penny. I’m incredibly grateful to her for making the birth of my third baby such a calm, safe and positive experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone considering having their baby under her care.
After a traumatic birth experience with my first baby, I was very anxious going into my second pregnancy. It was incredibly important to me to find someone who was not only a top-level obstetrician, but also warm, reassuring and someone I felt comfortable with. Nikki was exactly that. From the very first appointment, she put me at ease. She has a lovely way of making you feel informed without ever feeling overwhelmed or patronised, and I always felt I could ask any question. Despite being an experienced and busy consultant, she always made me feel like I had her full attention. What also stood out was the way she interacted with everyone around her. Whether it was midwives, reception staff, my family, everyone was treated with the same warmth and professionalism. She creates a calm, welcoming atmosphere while still commanding the respect owed to a doctor at her level. When I went into labour almost three weeks early, one phone call with Nikki was enough to make me feel calm and reassured that she had a plan and everything was under control. She delivered my second baby at The Portland, and the whole experience was everything I’d hoped for. Nikki’s expertise, calm reassurance and clear focus on making this a positive birth experience made all the difference. I would recommend her in the strongest terms to anyone looking for an exceptional obstetrician.
We approached Nikki very early in my second pregnancy knowing that we wanted a very different experience following the very difficult delivery of our first daughter. I will never forget the feeling that she understood what I meant and felt when I described the memories of my first birth, based on her rich NHS experience, and she held that understanding in mind throughout my antenatal care. Nikki was proactive, supportive, empathetic and reliable throughout my pregnancy and birth. She arranged for me to meet with an anaesthetist to discuss epidurals when I worried about that and also offered guidance to my husband when he was thinking about his role as birth partner. I still find it hard to believe that we had such a smooth, beautiful birth with our son with Nikki’s help. I will treasure those memories forever. Nikki’s approach is warm, calm and trauma-informed, and that’s exactly what I needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her for anyone who feels nervous or scared of birth after a difficult experience. Her guidance was excellent and it was blended with my preferences all the way through. I can’t thank Nikki enough for her care.
I first encountered Nikki when I was transferred to her ward during the tricky birth of my eldest son, Fabian. She immediately took control of quite a distressing situation and was calm and reassuring. Against the odds, she even managed to engineer the mode of delivery I wanted (vaginal vs C-section). I knew that if I ever had another child (and I wasn’t sure after that…), I would do everything I could to have Nikki… Two and half years later, I emailed Nikki as soon as I found out I was pregnant. And for 9 months I have had an open and direct dialogue with her. She is always professional and yet infinitely warm and relatable - I have never felt self-conscious asking questions I might deem trivial. And despite her vast experience, no ask is too big for her. In fact, I would describe Nikki’s response time as “immediate”. I had some bleeding in the first trimester and she dropped everything to see me when I came into hospital. I’ve had a pretty straightforward pregnancy and still Nikki has gone over and above to facilitate extra scans, medication, appointments eg. with haematology to track platelets, so I didn’t have to worry… In short, Nikki is a rare blend of clinical excellence and emotional intelligence. She’s empathetic, compassionate and dedicated. All this was never more evident than during birth when Nikki went out of her way to give me a positive experience this time. She listened to what I wanted and, also, knew how to nudge me in the right direction to achieve this. As a result, the birth of my second son was the polar opposite of my first; calm, controlled, wonde...

Nikki has delivered both of my children. The care that Nikki provided was exceptional. I couldn’t have asked for more. Not only is she an exceptionally experienced obstetrician but she really listens to her patients with compassion. She explained every step of the process clearly. I felt in very safe hands throughout the process and knew I was being looked after by the very best. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
Nikki was the best, we looked forward to all our appointments and the birth at the Fitzrovia suite was such an amazing experience. Would do it all again in a heartbeat 💓
Nikki was fantastic and we had such a special experience because of her. She's lovely and open and extremely talented. I had a c section with her and could not recommend more.
