Dr Sotiris Nicholas

I recently had Dr Nicholas as my anaesthetist at the Portland and i couldn't recommend him enough. He was personable, reassuring and extremely professional. I will be requesting him going forward for any future procedures and can't thank him enough for making me feel calm and safe in good hands.

Dr Sotiris was excellent throughout my procedure. He introduced himself from the beginning, which immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease and helped reduce my anxiety. He clearly explained the entire process to both me and my husband, ensuring that we understood every step. During the operation, he remained very attentive and engaged, explaining the medications being administered and what sensations I might experience. His calm and reassuring manner made the whole experience much easier. He also had a very gentle approach, and I did not feel any pain at all during the spinal anaesthetic. What I appreciated most was his continued care after the procedure—he called me the following day to check on me and ask about my pain levels and recovery, which showed genuine concern for my wellbeing. Overall, I had a very positive experience and truly appreciated his professionalism, kindness, and exceptional patient care throughout the entire process.

Dr Nicholas was friendly, professional and patient at all times. He made a major surgery and life-changing moment as enjoyable as possible, and was a reassuring presence. If anybody is nervous about having a c section I would strongly recommend Dr Nicholas both for his experience and bedside manner.

I had my Csection procedure with Dr Nichole and I can’t thank him enough. He was beyond caring and professional from the moment we met. Everything was explained went as expected and even better. I had an amazing experience delivering my baby. Having the best team by side made this memory a magical one.

Dr Sotiris was absolutely fantastic throughout the birth of our daughter. He was informative, calm and caring and made me feel very at ease. I felt in very safe hands and would highly reccomend him to anybody looking for an anaesthetist.

Dr Nicholas has been so very fantastic, I cannot recommend him enough! Having had 2 very difficult and traumatic epidurals with my first 2 children, I was feeling extremely anxious in the lead up to my birth, but Dr Nicholas saw me for an anaesthetic review during pregnancy where we went through my history thoroughly, and made a plan for my C Section whilst ensuring I understood and felt comfortable with everything. On the day of my C Section, he was so reassuring to me and my partner, and did a wonderful Spinal anaesthetic which worked perfectly, and supported us with the birth of our 3rd baby in such a compassionate, kind and fun way! We can’t thank him enough for being so great!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. My wife and I recently welcomed our first daughter into the world at the Portland Hospital, and without question one of the people who made this experience so special was Dr Sotiris Nicholas. From the very first moment we met him, we knew we were in exceptionally safe hands. Childbirth, particularly a planned Caesarean section, can naturally be an anxious and emotional experience, but Dr Nicholas immediately put us at ease with his calm, reassuring manner, incredible professionalism, and genuine warmth. He visited us early on the morning of the Caesarean section, taking the time to explain everything in detail. No question was too small, and he ensured we fully understood every aspect of the anaesthetic process. His communication was outstanding throughout, and his confidence and expertise inspired complete trust. The epidural/spinal anaesthetic was administered with extraordinary skill. What could have been one of the most daunting parts of the day became remarkably smooth and comfortable thanks to his expertise. Throughout the procedure he remained attentive, reassuring, and present, constantly explaining what was happening and ensuring my wife was comfortable and relaxed. What truly sets Dr Nicholas apart, however, is the level of care he provides beyond what anyone could reasonably expect. He came to see us again later the very same day following the birth to check on my wife and make sure everything was progressing well. I recently had a C-section and my anaesthetist was Dr Sotiris Nicholas. He was absolutely amazing from the minute we met he instantly put me at ease. His explanations of what was going to happen were super clear and kept me informed along the way of everything that was happening. I had a C section and Dr Sotiris Nicholas was recommended to me by my doctor. He was brilliant. Updating me on what was happening, talking to me while I was scared and asking me how I was feeling. Took photos for us too, made me laugh. The injection itself didn’t hurt at all and I was told to be in a position where it would hurt the least. It worked! He’s very trusting, professional but yet assures you and talks to you so you feel at ease. So happy and grateful to have had him! Thank you Sotiris you’re amazing!
