Mr Riley took the time to explain my situation and go over x-rays and CT scan images. He ensured I understood everything before moving on. He explained the procedure and my next steps and left me feeling very reassured and supported.

Mr Riley was very personable. He took a great deal of interest in my condition at our first meeting and went on to discuss and explain the various options in a clear and ‘easy to follow’ way. He carried out procedures on both my hands (4 weeks apart) and each time explained clearly what he was going to do. He communicated with me during the procedures, to check that I was Ok and to reassure me that things were going well. During my post op review after the first procedure, he made it clear to me that I must be more rigorous with my physio at home, otherwise the benefits would be lost. In hindsight I needed to be told that! Mr Riley is thoroughly professional and obviously very highly skilled and I could not recommend him highly enough. I am extremely grateful that he, rather than anyone else, was the consultant who ‘repaired’ my hands.

He clearly described the various available options, and then provided an excellent running commentary on the procedure as it progressed. A very clever man.

Mr Riley diagnosed and carried out surgical release of trigger finger in a caring and professional manner. The procedure took no time and was immediately successful. I also saw him for steroid injections, which also worked. All in al, very satisfied and would recommend.

Dr Riley got to the heart of the matter and outlined a rational and practical course of investigation. He was quick to ensure other specialists were bought in to investigate and eliminate other potential causes, and this was done to suit my timetable. After the investigation he clearly explained the results and future possible courses of action, and was very fast in writing to my GP to update him during the process.

Mr Nicholas Riley has been a superb professional throughout. The surgical procedure on my hand has been very successful and Mr Riley has explained everything in detail. His manner has been friendly while consistent with a high level of professionalism. I have felt that I have been treated as a human being rather than simply a set of symptoms. He has shown care and awareness that I, the patient, do not exist in a vacuum but has needs for social and domestic care as well as those directly concerned with treatment. Mr Riley has engaged well throughout and has made several follow up face to face and virtual appointments. I do not believe that I could have been better treated. I am aware that he has worked in consultation with the physiotherapist.
