Dr Neil Barlow

Dr Neil Barlow is a highly accomplished Consultant Radiologist who specialises in advanced diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures. With a patient-centred approach, he focuses on delivering precise diagnostics to support effective treatment planning. His clinical practice encompasses a wide range of radiological services, with a particular focus on cross-sectional imaging, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Dr Barlow is dedicated to utilising state-of-the-art imaging techniques to ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal patient care.

Throughout his career, Dr Barlow has developed significant expertise in interventional radiology, including performing image-guided drainages and complex biopsies. He has been instrumental in expanding diagnostic portfolios to include advanced vascular imaging of the lower limbs, haemorrhage diagnostics, and cardiac CT services. Notably, he established a specialised MRI small bowel service designed to support the diagnosis and monitoring of inflammatory bowel disease, successfully reducing radiation exposure for these patients. His clinical interests also extend to performing CT-guided biopsies and lung biopsies, providing critical diagnostic support for complex cases.

Dr Barlow graduated with a medical degree (MBChB) from Glasgow. Before specialising in radiology, he gained valuable experience across various surgical specialties, working as a Thoracic Surgeon and an Orthopaedic Surgeon, which included a role as a Trauma Orthopaedic Fellow. He completed his postgraduate specialist training in clinical radiology in 2009. Dr Barlow is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS). He also holds active memberships in the British Medical Association and the British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging.
