Miss Jane Olver

I first reached out to Dr. Olver on 10 September as I was interested in treatments to tighten my face and address my main concern of malar bags, festoons, and lax skin around my eyes. After researching the London area, I chose Dr. Olver due to her expertise as an oculoplastic surgeon, particularly with malar bags. My initial treatment was a laser therapy session, which I was informed would help with the rosacea on my face. This treatment cost £650, but unfortunately, I did not notice any improvement in the redness or rosacea. I was then told that multiple treatments would be necessary to see results, which was not communicated to me beforehand. Additionally, I did not receive any aftercare advice following the laser treatment. I was advised that Sculptra/PLLA and Ultherapy would greatly benefit my lower face and eye area. I scheduled these treatments a few days after the laser session. Following the laser treatment, I contacted Dr. Olver by email with photos showing swelling under my eyes, asking if this was normal and if I should proceed with the other planned treatments. She assured me that it was fine to continue with the treatments. After undergoing Ultherapy and Sculptra, my face became quite swollen. I was instructed to apply aloe vera to my skin and given two cold packs to use as compresses. Been to see Jane many time before and the service is outstanding, she is an expert in her field and always provided a fantastic service and outcome. All staff members are lovely and make the process easy.

I had considered blepharoplasty for some time due to hooded eyelids. I had always previously ruled out elective surgery but due to the ageing process (I’m 48) I decided to have consultations at two reputable clinics, Clinica London being one. I was drawn to Miss Olver over the other clinic because she instilled confidence and understood entirely my objective - which was to look natural. Miss Olver carefully explained the process to me and managed my expectations in terms of recovery. That enabled me to plan for the surgery knowing how long I’d basically need to work from home and go to ground for. I had the operation a few months after my first consultation. On the day of surgery, I had a consultation with Miss Olver and had chance to discuss any concerns and ask questions. The whole experience felt very calm and Miss Olver and all the nursing staff were caring and attentive. I felt very looked after despite my obvious nervousness about how I’d look and feel afterwards. The surgery itself took around one hour. I was awake and kept informed throughout. The worst part was the anaesthetic but even that wasn’t so bad. I felt no pain during the surgery. Afterwards I felt very numb and had difficulty fully closing my eyes for a couple of hours until the anaesthetic wore off. I rested in a room for an hour and was cared for until my friend arrived to take me home. My eyes felt sore and watery for the first couple of days and I’d definitely advise anyone having the surgery to not work for a couple of days afterwards to avoid eye strain. Lower blepharoplasty total failure. Exactly the same puffy eyes as pre-op. Having to pay twice for another surgeon for revision surgery. Horrific traumatising experience. Left with no recourse.

I came in very uncomfortable and Miss Olver immediately recognised I had been suffering. She was pragmatic and kind. Once I began treatment that evening, I started feeling relief by the end of the next day. I am very grateful to have seen her.

Dr Olver was very good. She was quick and to the point which was great for me. Dr Olver worked quickly when treating me which was great as I was in and out within an hour. I am still healing but it’s looking good and the clear after care instructions are very helpful. I hope I don’t ever have to come back for further surgery and that my eyes will remain in good health going forward. However should I need surgery again I would 100% be booking back in as it was quick and easy to book and Dr Olver is very good at what they do.

I have been a patient of Miss Olver for 10+ years. I trust her with the care of my eyes. She is honest about what she can and cannot achieve, she won't make false promises and will refer to a colleague if she feels they are better suited to deal with an issue

What a nice lady. She is very calming and has a great demeanor. Highly responsive to questions and takes time to explain any issues, concerns, and care.

Miss Olver has done two delicate eyelid surgeries for me to remove cysts on the inner eyelid and both outcomes have been very good. Highly recommend her. My husband used her as well for lancing a blocked eye and infection and she is highly skilled.

Dr. Oliver explained each and every detail of the proposed surgery, its risks and rewards, its likely results, the timing, the impact (if any) on any other activities I might have planned, and did so in clear and fully understandable non-medical terms. I have yet to decide on the procedure, but any decision I make will be fully informed and I can't think of any other medical consultation I've ever had that was as professionally and intelligently done, while at the same time being quite friendly. Doctors can often come across as though speaking down to a patient and assuming that because of their training everything they say is both obvious and correct. Dr. Oliver does not suffer from that character defect -- quite the opposite.
