Gemma has over 19 years experience in the field of mental health, treating eating disorders as well as addictions, trauma, bereavement and associated co-morbidities such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and personality disorders. Gemma is an advocate of removing all stigma around mental health issues and is dedicated to providing exemplary care for those who deal with these conditions. Gemma is a qualified Person-Centred Therapist, a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abides by their ethical framework.

Gemma's particular field of interest is the treatment of eating disorders, trauma and personality disorders. Gemma has personally witnessed how eating disorders and personality disorders sufferers frequently feel stigmatised and judged. She is passionate about creating a supportive, communicative and empathic treatment model in which patients are understood in a holistic way and provided with multifaceted psychotherapeutic support in order to make a full, sustainable recovery. Gemma applies a range of therapy methods including (but not limited) Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma Informed Therapy, Schema Therapy, Internal Family System Therapy (IFS) Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Attachment Theory, Mindfulness and Narrative Therapy.
