Mr Grogan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Honorary Lecturer with over a decade's worth of experience within the field, specialising in hip and knee replacements. After gaining his medical qualifications from the University of Nottingham in 1992, Richard went on to complete sub-speciality fellowship training for arthroscopic knee surgery, hip replacement and resurfacing and knee replacement. His fellowship also focused on enhanced recovery, customised patient technology and computer navigation, for the latest interventions to improve patient outcomes. Richard completed his fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons in 2002.
After completing his fellowship and postgraduate diploma at the University of Leeds, he was appointed his Consultant post at Bradford Infirmary in 2005, where he has since become Clinical Lead, performing thousands of hip and knee replacements. Mr Grogan's surgeries are of the highest standard, with data showing high excellent outcomes and recovery rates. Richard has since been appointed Clinical Governance Lead at the Yorkshire Clinic and Clinical Director of Orthopaedics at the Bradford Teaching Hospitals Trust, where he maintains the management of trauma patients showing his dedication to the field. Mr Grogan also supervises and mentors undergraduate medical students and surgical trainees, under his role s Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Leeds.
