Mr Sumohan Chatterjee

Mr Sumohan Chatterjee is a highly experienced and qualified breast surgeon who specialises in reconstruction surgery.

His expertise is in the following areas:

• Oncoplastic breast surgery
• Treatment of breast cancer and benign disease
• Breast reduction
• Breast reconstruction
• Sentinel lymph node biopsy
• Assessment of all breast symptoms
• Breast cancer

He received his medical degree in India in 1992 before moving to the UK to complete basic surgical training. After finishing his FRCS qualifications, Mr Chatterjee became a research fellow at an academic surgical unit at Hull University. From there, he completed higher surgical training in the North West Deanery with a focus on breast surgery before being appointed to the National Oncoplastic Fellowship in Sheffield, where he focused on reconstructive breast surgery and cosmetic surgery. In 2005, Mr Chatterjee began working as a consultant at Salford Royal Hospital Trust until 2015, when he moved to The Nightingale and Genesis Breast Cancer Centre.

Not only does Mr Chatterjee have extensive experience in treating patients, but he has also organised and delivered courses on implant-based reconstruction and currently acts as the lead for trainees in his unit. His contributions to scholarly work include papers published as well as book chapters and international lectures. Additionally, he is a member of the council of the Asian Society of Mastology.
