Mr Shah Punwar is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with many years of experience in Knee & Hip Surgery procedures including ACL reconstruction, Hip replacements, knee replacements and non-surgical treatments for knee issues. He sees private patients at the Circle Blackheath, Shirley Oaks and The Sloane Hospitals and NHS patients at University Hospital Lewisham in London.
Mr Punwar gained his primary medical degree at Imperial College London Medical School in 2001, after which he undertook his basic surgical training in London and Kent. He also gained his Diploma in Sports and exercise medicine, which helped him focus his interest in lower limb sports related injuries. Upon completion of his basic training, he undertook his specialist orthopaedic training on the Bristol rotation and also a sport injury and complex arthroplasty fellowship in Peth, Australia.
Mr Punwar was appointed as a Consultant Trauma Orthopaedic Surgeon upon his return to the UK and entered the specialist register in 2014. He has been a consultant at University Hospital Lewisham since 2019 and is the current Clinical Director of the orthopaedic unit.
