About Mr Sunny Deo

Mr Sunny Deo is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who qualified in 1989. Deo went to Medical School in Birmingham the did further training periods in Worcester, Oxford, Cape Town and Vancouver. Deo now has a large established practice and is based at the Great Western Hospital, Swindon. He has been working as a specialist knee surgeon with an on-going interest in general and lower limb trauma in Swindon since 2001.

His clinical interests centre around knee surgery ranging from, common sports knee injuries to complex ligament reconstructions, joint surface operations, osteotomies, joint replacements, partial, total and revision replacements. In addition to surgery itself, he has continued to take a keen interest in the diagnosis of conditions, how they present and how multiple diagnoses co-exist and interact as well as treatment outcomes.

He has maintained his research fields, with recent papers and presentations on clincal complexity, diagnostic complexity, pain sub-types in knee replacement surgery, outcomes following knee surgery. He has maintained an interest in the on-going teaching and training of knee problems and surgery both locally and internationally with surgeons, MSK health professionals and GP's.
