very friendly, informative and professional. Made me feel very confident for my upcoming total knee replacement.
My experience with Sam Rajaratnam was exceptional. Informative and calm about what my knee replacement involved. I went in with a degree of fear and unknowing but exited ready for the procedure.
I had my staples removed and my wounds re-bandaged during my appointment. The whole process was quick, efficient, and well organised. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made me feel comfortable throughout. Overall, I had a very positive experience.
I was referred to Dr Sam Rajaratnam by Dr Daniel Bowman and I couldn't have been placed in more knowledgeable, experienced, and comforting hands. Sam took the time to deeply explain my conditions and what had happened to my knee and even using analogies related to Formula One that made total sense to me and I highly appreciate and I felt safe I felt like I'd looked after and that I would be able to return to a very good condition. I didn't really think it was possible beforehand so I really do appreciate the time and effort and his team have taken with me.
As soon as I met Mr. Sam Rajaratnam, I knew I was in good hands. I had a lot of questions as I had been in pain for a long time. He did not rush me at all, explained my knee issue to me in detail and was incredibly kind and reassuring. I booked my surgery in right away and from that moment, the support of his entire team has been exceptional. It's like nothing I've experienced in any hospital setting. He works with a specific team. Everyone from his brilliant anaesthetist Dr. Barry Phillips (who I wish i could have for any future surgery) to his nurses Magdalena, Christine and Andreia to Ali Yeo (physiotherapist) are amazing. The post op support was also wonderful. You are given a number for the nurses in case you need anything. Magdalena was always available for questions and advice during my recovery post op and was extremely caring. Even pre-op, Daisy (medical secretary to Mr Rajaratnam) was so helpful and supportive. I would recommend Mr Sam Rajaratnam and his team (sorry if I have forgotten any names here) without hesitation. He is an amazing, ethical and extremely skilled surgeon who cares about his patients in a way that is rarely seen these days. If you need surgery, he is the best of the best.
Mr Rajaratnam, is friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable in his field. Would highly recommend.
The temperature on July 30th was high and made for a very stressful journey to the Cleveland Clinic in Grosvenor Place. There had been a direct admission of a patient from Clinic to Hospital prior to my allocated time which made for a longer wait than expected a whole hour in fact. But when I saw Mr. Rajaratnam I was not hurried at all and I felt I had a very thorough Consultation. He is a very experienced knee specialist and I feel sure that if I go through with more replacement knee surgery then I am confident that in the hands of this Surgeon I will be safe.
Sam was excellent explaining why I was have problems and how to over come them

Common causes, symptoms and when to seek medical advice for back of knee pain

Knee pain is a common problem. In the UK today about one-third of over 50-year-olds suffer from it from time to time. However, only about one-third of these people visit their GP for a consultation about their knee pain, the vast majority preferring to self-medicate or ignore the situation. In the case of minor knee problems, of a temporary nature, this may be a reasonable reaction, but with persistent pain on a long term basis, there is the danger of a serious underlying problem which may get worse if treatment is delayed.

Hearing a clicking or clunking noise after knee replacement surgery can be worrying. Many patients fear that something is loose or that their artificial knee is failing. The good news is that, in most cases, a clicking knee replacement is entirely normal and not a cause for concern. This article explains why knee replacements click, when it is normal, when it may indicate a problem, and what to do if you are concerned — particularly if you have had knee replacement surgery for knee osteoarthritis.
