Mr Rohit Kumar

Mr Rohit Kumar is an experienced Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon. His clinical practice encompasses adults and children of all ages with a wide range of ENT disorders.

After training in the Midlands, the North East of England, the North West of England and Australia, Rohit was appointed as a Consultant at Manchester University Foundation Trust for his NHS practice.

Alongside general ENT disorders, he has a specialist interest in Paediatric ENT diseases and has completed a prestigious international advanced fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Westmead in Sydney, Australia. During this period he developed additional skills in the management of routine ENT problems in children alongside management of complex breathing and hearing disorders in all children including those with additional needs. As a father of three himself, he is passionate about ensuring that children are looked after in a holistic way.

In addition to children's surgery, Rohit also sub-specialises in tumours of the Head and Neck region and is a core member of the Christie Hospital Head and Neck Cancer Team and the Christie Hospital Thyroid Cancer team. He is the lead of the South Manchester Head and Neck Cancer Multidisciplinary team and actively engages with the Greater Manchester Cancer pathway board to ensure that patients of South Manchester and East Cheshire receive the highest standard of care.

Education is a major role in Rohit's career, having completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University. He is responsible for training the surgeons of the future through the North West ENT Surgical training programme and he is also an Academic Advisor to the students of Manchester Medical School when he supports students through their training in both a clinical and a pastoral role.
