Mr Rajeev Peravali

Mr Rajeev Peravali is a highly experienced Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with over 20 years of surgical training and practice. He graduated with an MBChB from the University of Birmingham in 2004 and went on to train in some of the UK’s leading surgical centres, including University Hospital Birmingham and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

He has performed more than 7,000 procedures, 90% of which are laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeries, reflecting his commitment to minimally invasive techniques and enhanced recovery. He is also an accredited robotic surgeon and now performs the majority of major operations using the Da Vinci XI robotic system. Recognised for his excellence, he was awarded the prestigious John Goligher Fellowship in Advanced Coloproctology in Leeds.

Mr Peravali holds a Master of Surgery from the University of Edinburgh, where his research on enhanced recovery in colorectal surgery has been presented nationally and internationally. He also holds a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Strasbourg and achieved his FRCS in 2014.

Currently, he serves as Lead Robotic Surgeon, Lead Pelvic Floor Surgeon and Lead IBD Surgeon at SWB reflecting his highly advanced and specialised practice. 

He has a specialist interest in inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor disorders, colorectal cancer, and minimally invasive surgery. 

He has a strong commitment to teaching and training, and has current and previous roles affiliated to the Royal College of Surgeons, Univeristy (Birmingham, Aston, East Anglia) and NHS England.
