Mr Radwan Faraj

Mr Radwan Faraj is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist specialising in Reproductive Medicine and Laparoscopic Surgery. He is based in Sheffield at Rotherham General Hospital and currently practices privately at Thornbury Hospital and Spire Claremont Hospital. At Rotherham General Hospital, Mr Faraj is the lead of the Infertility Unit where he specialises in the management of infertile couples.

Mr Faraj completed his medical degree at the University of Baghdad, Iraq in 1991. He later moved to the UK and was awarded his Membership with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2005. He also holds a Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning.

He has over 15 years of specialist experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, working in both the Middle East and Europe. He has held the position of Medical Director of the first IVF Unit in Muscat, Oman where he had the first IVF baby.

Mr Faraj has clinical expertise in the surgical management of gynaecological and obstetric conditions, with special interest in recurrent miscarriage, fibroids, endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). He has several years of experience performing a range of laparoscopic procedures, including laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy. He also has expertise in endometrial ablation, female sterilisation, endometrial scratching, endoscopic ultrasound and fertility tests.
