Mr Pratik Sufi

Mr Sufi is a highly qualified and experienced Bariatric and Upper GI surgeon, currently serving as the lead surgeon at the Whittington Hospital. He has been a Fellow of the RCS of England since 1996 and holds an MS degree from the University of London, as well as a Fellowship in General Surgery from the Intercollegiate Board and a CCT.

Mr Sufi has extensive experience in the field of bariatric surgery and led the development of the multidisciplinary bariatric surgery service at the Whittington Hospital, which has achieved Preferred Provider Status for Bariatric Surgery in South East England, BOMSS accreditation and European Centre of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery.

In addition to his expertise in bariatric surgery, Mr Sufi is also an experienced specialist general surgeon. He specialises in the surgical treatment of morbid obesity, diabetes, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, hiatus hernia, oesophageal dysmotility, and strictures. He is highly skilled in laparoscopic surgery and has extensive experience in treating gallstones, hernia, and other abdominal conditions such as acute appendicitis, perforated peptic ulcers, and intra-abdominal adhesions using laparoscopic techniques. Mr Sufi is also an expert endoscopist and has advanced skills in the insertion of gastric balloons and laparoscopic gastric bands, as well as laparoscopic procedures including sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, splenectomy, and hernia repairs.
