About Mr Pearse Keane

Pearse Keane is an NIHR Clinician Scientist, based at the Institute of Ophthalmology, UCL, and an honorary consultant ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He specialises in the treatment of retinal diseases such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, the commonest causes of blindness in the UK and Europe.

His research interest is in ocular imaging with optical coherence tomography. Prior to joining Moorfields Eye Hospital, he carried out OCT research with leaders in the field at the Doheny Eye Institute. He is originally from Dublin and received his medical degree from University College Dublin.
