About Mr Mark Hamlet

Mr Mark Hamlet has over 25 years of experience, qualifying in medicine from the University of London, then completing his orthopaedic training on the North West Thames rotation before undertaking specialist trauma fellowship training in Berne, Switzerland. Appointed as a substantive NHS consultant surgeon in 1999, he brings extensive consultant-level expertise to his practice, specialising in general orthopaedic surgery with specific clinical interests in shoulder, knee, trauma, and sports injury management. His procedural scope ranges from keyhole arthroscopic interventions through to complex joint reconstructions, including primary knee and shoulder replacements.

In his surgical practice, Mr Hamlet maintains a high procedural volume, having performed well over 1000 knee arthroscopies and more than 1000 shoulder arthroscopies throughout his career. His regular operative caseload includes performing an average of 3 to 4 anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions per month and 20 to 40 shoulder replacements per year. He maintains active professional affiliations with key medical bodies, holding fellowships with the British Orthopaedic Association and the Royal College of Surgeons of England, as well as membership in the British Elbow and Shoulder Society.

A thorough consultation and referral for additional MRI to help accuracy of diagnosis. Explanation on diagnosis was detailed and very clear, helping see and understand the issue with my shoulder. Cannot fault how quickly I was seen, diagnosed and referred to physio for treatment. Would happily recommend Mr Hamlet to others.
