Mr Mark Farndon is professional and clear with patients. He shows skill in ankle and knee surgery, including foot procedures like bunion treatment. He gives clear explanations and reassurance, building confidence for patient care and recovery. His work involves foot, ankle, and knee issues.
I presented with a very painful and swollen Achilles tendon, which had been an issue for some years, following decades of martial arts training on hard flooring. To try to avoid surgery, Mark suggested a non-invasive procedure, which worked well for some months but then the pain recurred. This time Mark suggested the least invasive procedure, keyhole surgery, which would give the best and quickest route to recovery. I cannot be happier with the outcome. The advice given, the professionalism of the care and the overall confidence around everything he does are trademarks of a Consultant at the very top of his profession. I truly feel that my health is, literally, in the very best of hands.
Great explanation of options, excellent treatment both pre and post op.
Had foot surgery (bone spurs removed)highly recommend surgeon/consultant who answered all questions before and after surgery plus at the follow up appointment,my foot’s a lot better but most importantly the initial pain has now gone, what a relief,in recovery time now which takes time but hopefully back to normal operation of the joint which I know does take a bit of time.
After a very comprehensive consultation with Mr Farndon, I decided to go for surgery (ankle ligament reconstruction). Throughout the consultations Mr Farndon was superb. He explained everything in a clear and concise manner, and put me at ease. Post op - I am so glad I had it done. My ankle feels a lot more stable and I now have more confidence with my mobility. I would highly recommend Mr Farndon for any lower limb, foot, ankle or knee surgery.
It's only 8 weeks after my ankle operation and the difference in my ankle is unbelievable.
Excellent,precise, proffesional,informative & courteous
I have been extremely impressed with Mark Farndon! I sent a distressed SOS to his team while having waited 10 months in the NHS with no appointment on the horizon. Mark took the time on a Friday evening to address my concerns, offering to take a look at the private MRI I had had done to give me his thoughts. He asked for no money to do this. Within 2 weeks I'd had my total knee replacement with him. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and 5 weeks post op am going about my life like nothing has happened!
Mr Farndon is a very well respected and outstanding orthopaedic surgeon. He offers a high quality and efficient service at the Duchy.

CardiologistMark is an excellent clinician and surgeon. His skills lie in knowing when not to operate as much as when to and I've always had excellent feedback from patients I've referred to him about his manner as well as his open and measured approach
