About Mr Marc George
Mr Marc George is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a subspecialist practice dedicated exclusively to conditions in and around the hip. His surgical expertise spans hip preservation procedures, including hip arthroscopy for injuries and conditions affecting young adults, as well as hip replacement surgery, both primary and revision. While he treats patients of all ages from adolescence upwards, many of his patients are young adults aiming to return to high levels of activity. He has a particular interest in performing uncemented hip replacements with ceramic bearings using minimally invasive, soft tissue-sparing approaches.
Prior to moving into full-time private practice in 2023, Mr George spent 15 years as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, a tertiary referral centre. There, he developed extensive experience managing both routine and complex hip conditions. During his tenure, he held several leadership roles, including Orthopaedic Clinical Lead and Hip Unit Lead. He launched a day-case hip replacement surgery programme and established and chaired a regional multidisciplinary hip meeting, providing a collaborative forum for colleagues to discuss and plan the management of complex surgical cases, including metastatic cancer.

I had a six week checkup with Mr Marc George yesterday & went to the wrong clinic. Completely My own mistake but the staff at both clinics, Mr George’s office & Mr George himself were incredibly understanding, kind and accommodating!! My hip surgery has been amazing & my recovery excellent.
I saw Marc George on Tuesday, he requested diagnostic tests which were completed on Wednesday and we were able to review the result on Thursday in a follow up consultation meeting. I now have an agreed treatment plan.
Very happy with my new hips. Small neat scars Mr George is a great surgeon. I found life quality improved from day ten onwards after each operation. I would recommend this surgeon.
