About Professor Lee Dvorkin
Professor Lee Dvorkin is a Consultant Laparoscopic General and Colorectal Surgeon at The Royal Free, London. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Leeds and completed basic surgical training in Wessex before undertaking research at The Royal London Hospital, where he was awarded an MD by the University of London for his work on pelvic floor disorders.
He completed higher surgical training in North East London in 2010, followed by an 18-month supra-specialist fellowship at St Mark’s Hospital, which included six months dedicated to laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon in 2011.
Professor Dvorkin specialises in the management of benign and malignant bowel disease, including bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease and irritable bowel syndrome. His clinical practice also covers the diagnosis and treatment of common anal conditions such as haemorrhoids, fissures, fistulae and rectal bleeding. He is accredited in colonoscopy and gastroscopy and performs laparoscopic surgery for hernias, gallstones, appendicitis and bowel cancer.
He practises privately at The Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth, The Wellington Hospital, The Hendon Hospital and The Cavell Hospital. Professor Dvorkin is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College Hospital and Director of an RCS Senior Clinical Fellowship programme.

I have received excellent care from Professor Dvorkin for my Inguinal Hernia repair procedure. However, the most pleasing and impressive aspect has been that I have been virtually pain free since having the operation. I only needed pain killers for a couple of days afterwards and only took half doses anyway. Prof Dvorkin's surgical skills are clearly excellent, everything has healed really well and I am almost back to normal activities in 4 weeks. I am sincerely most grateful to Professor Dvorkin.

Prof Dvorkin was absolutely brilliant. He was very straightforward and honest and blended that with a lovely bedside manner - answering any questions and explaining anyone I needed or didn’t understand.
