Are you Mr Khalid Canna?
The clinical career of Mr Khalid Canna started after graduating in 1986. After then, he was a junior doctor before he moved to Iraq as a research fellow. He was trained in advanced surgery in the region of West of Scotland while his colorectal sub-specialisation was also in the same region. He spent one year in the region at the National Laparoscopic Training Unit in Glasgow, towards the development of his higher laparoscopic expertise. He is especially interested in surgery for gall bladder diseases, abdominal wall hernias, inguinal and incisional hernias, all colorectal diseases especially inflammatory bowel disease, cancers and anal conditions like treatment of haemorrhoids. Mr Canna carries out upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy. His academic exploits have led to publications and presentations at national and international level and he is an instructor on national course teaching advanced techniques in laparoscopy bowel surgery.
Diseases, Medical Tests and TreatmentsI have gained wide experience in dealing with the common surgical conditions such as all types of hernias especially inguinal hernia using laparoscopic approch (Totatal extraperitoneal repair) and incisional hernia, umbilical hernia, paraumbilical hernia.

I have performed in excess of 6500 colonoscopies. I have extensive experience of rigid and flexible sigmoidoscopy and also diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy including snare polypectomy, techniques for the removal of sessile polyps, hot biopsy, argon plasma coagulation of angiodysplasia / irradiation telangiectasia and terminal ileoscopy. My caecal intubation rate was more than 95% with an adenoma detection rate of 30%.
I have gained experience in pelvic floor surgery and I am competent in performing abdominal rectopexy and perineal approach (Delorme's & Altemeier's procedure) for rectal prolapse.
