Mr Jonathan Robinson

Mr. Jon Robinson is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with over a decade of experience in general surgery including hernia surgery, colon and rectum resections for cancer treatment, and gall bladder removal. He sees private patients at the Ramsay Health Yorkshire Clinic and The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate.

Mr. Robinson earned his primary medical qualification at the University of Leeds Medical School, after which he studied toward his Doctorate of Medicine, for which he wrote his thesis on Colorectal cancer at the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Cancer Research. Upon completion of his Doctorate, Mr. Robinson completed his higher surgical training in laparoscopic and colorectal surgery, in the Yorkshire region, and was later awarded an international fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. During this fellowship, Mr. Robinson gained knowledge and expertise in the treatment of colon and rectum cancer.

Upon completion of his training and fellowships, Mr. Robinson was appointed consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Bradford Royal Infirmary in 2009, where he frequently performed laparoscopic surgical procedures including gall bladder removal, hernia repair, and major resections for cancer of the colon and rectum. Since 2022 Mr Robinson moved his NHS practice to hHarrogate District Hopspital where he continues the same work.

Mr. Robinson also has a specialist interest in the treatment of early rectal cancer to prevent some patients from undergoing major surgery using the technique of transanal minimally invasive surgery.
