About Mr John Peters
I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon working at Whipps Cross University Hospital and within the Barts Health Hospitals NHS Trust
I trained in Urology in the North West London rotation and completed my training at the Institute of Urology at the Middlesex Hospital
In April 2002 I was appointed to Whipps Cross and am currently the Divisional Director of Surgery and Anaesthetics within Barts Health.
I live in Woodford Green and aim to provide a high quality and personalised service to my patients
My clinical research interests are in Lower Urinary Tract symptoms and the managment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia ( enlarged prostate) , Overactive Bladder ( OAB - bladder symptoms) and Diagnostic Innovations in Cancer diagnostics. I have previously undertaken clinical research in targetted therapy in renal cell cancer .
Outide of urology my main interests are rugby , the fortunes of Manchester City FC and trying to get my old MG back on the road.

I went to school in Brentwood Essex and attended Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School. I undertook a BSc in Biochemistry during my training and qualified in 1991
I trained in Surgery at Charing Cross and then was appointed to the North West London Urology training rotation. I completed my training as Senior Registrar at the Insititute of Urology at the Middlesex Hospital and was appointed to Whipps Cross in 2002.
During my training I worked at Charing Cross , St Marys , Northwick Park and the Institute of Urology .
Following the merger of Whipps Cross with the Royal London , Newham and St Bartholomews I was appointed as Divisional Direcor for Surgery Cancer and Anaesthetics in 2016. I was the Deputry Medical Director between 2010 and 2014.
