Mr Jeevan Chandrasenan

Mr Jeevan Chandrasenan is a fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in knee surgery. Mr Chandrasenan completed specialist orthopaedic training from the East Midlands (North) training programme. Following this, he undertook fellowship training at The Royal Derby Hospital where he developed skills in managing acute knee injuries. In addition, his practice often comprises managing complex patients with early-onset arthritis in the knee. Mr Chandrasenan's surgical profile in managing these problems consists of both joint preservation surgery including meniscal and cartilage preservation and joint replacement surgery including unicompartment replacement surgery.

Mr Chandrasenan is responsible for training UK orthopaedic surgeons and runs an international course for surgeons to prepare them to be consultant orthopaedic surgeons. The course is run over two days in September and usually attracts 50 orthopaedic trainees and a national faculty of 70 UK surgeons. During this course, up to 150 patients from three hospitals will attend with a variety of orthopaedic conditions.

Mr Chandrasenan has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented research both nationally and internationally. He is passionate about education and is a faculty member for several nationally run orthopaedic courses for trainee surgeons. Mr Chandrasenan is an educational supervisor for the University of Sheffield and trainee Orthopaedic Surgeons from the East Midlands Rotation.
