Mr James Taylor

I am an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with an NHS Consultant appointment in North Yorkshire based at York Hospital. I was appointed to York Hospital in July 2001. I trained at Kings College Hospital, London, The Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, Surrey and the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead. I see both NHS and Private Patients at the Nuffield Hospital in York.

I am a member of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS) and British Associatiion of Head and Neck Oncologist (BAHNO) along with the European Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery.

I was appointed Deputy Medical Director and Responsible officer at York Teaching Hospital in 2014 and became Medical Director in 2015.

I am now repsonsible for patient safety in the Trust and I Chair the Serious Incidet Committee amongs others.

I also produce approximately 20 reports per year on personal injuries. The majority of these reports are for the claimant, but some are joint instructiion. I have not been instructed for the defendant. I have a limited experience of medical negligence work and I give advice on this field and produce a small number of reports.
