Academic Background:
Mr Halstead read Medicine at Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge and completed clinical school training at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. He then trained in both cardiothoracic surgery and general surgery (specialising in upper gastrointestinal tract surgery) in Oxford, Cambridge, London, New York and Leeds. He passed the FRCS part III examination in upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery in February 2008 and has been a consultant surgeon at Bradford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since October that year.
