Mr Brewin was attentive and professional at my first consultation and retained those qualities throughout the procedure and the aftercare .
I have reviewed James as he conducted the procedure and conducted the 3 month follow up, but Max was the man who set this all up so equal credit to Max in this review.

At Sarum Urology we are delighted to be able to provide a new procedure for patients with urinary symptoms secondary to an enlarged prostate or high bladder neck. The iTIND (insertion of Temporarily Implantable Nitinol device) procedure involves a brief general anaesthetic and endoscopic insertion of the device which aims to produce three new channels for urine to flow through the prostate. The procedure is performed as a day surgery, without a catheter. The device is then removed under local anaesthetic around 5 days later. Multiple research studies have been published showing good improvement in urinary symptoms. One of the main advantages is a very low risk of complications. If you are interested in discussing this innovative new technique please arrange an appointment.

In November 2024 Mr Brewin and Mr Johnston organised and delivered the inaugural South Central region HoLEP course. We maintain a significant interest in training other Urologists to do procedures which benefit all of our patients. With joint experience of more than 1000 HoLEP operations, which is an excellent procedure for those with larger prostates and/or a catheter, we felt well placed to organise a formal course to teach HoLEP to colleagues. Over 3 days a mixture of Senior Urology trainees and Consultants performed HoLEP procedures under careful supervision by Mr Johnston and Mr Brewin. They found the course very instructive and we are planning another coure in the Autumn of 2025. If you are interested in discussing HoLEP please arrange an appointment to see us.
