About Mr Ivan Tomasi

Mr. Ivan Tomasi is an accomplished General Surgical Consultant. He obtained his medical qualification in 2000 and went on to complete his surgical training with honours at the School of General Surgery at Verona University in Italy in 2006.

Following his training, Mr. Tomasi gained valuable experience as a Colorectal Senior Clinical Fellow at Barts for two years. He also worked as a Locum Consultant in Emergency Surgery with a subspecialty in Colorectal surgery at Rotherham and Watford.

In 2015, Mr. Tomasi was appointed as a Consultant in Emergency General Surgery at Guys and St Thomas Hospital in London. He has actively participated in research, particularly in collaboration with the University of Southern California and Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, USA, focusing on new oncological markers. His contributions to the field include published scientific articles and numerous presentations at national and international meetings, with a specific focus on oncological markers and the treatment of conditions such as haemorrhoids. Mr. Tomasi's dedication to medical education has earned him the distinction of being an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at King's College London (KCL).

His elective practice primarily involves procedures related to abdominal-inguinal hernia repair, proctology (including haemorrhoids, anal fissure, fistula-in-ano, and pilonidal sinus), abdominal wall reconstruction (AWR), laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and the management of lumps and bumps.

In addition to his clinical roles, Mr. Tomasi has also taken on leadership positions. He served as the audit lead for general surgery for four years and currently leads initiatives related to sepsis and infection control. Prior to his consultancy at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, he devoted his expertise as a volunteer doctor in a rural hospital in Burundi, Africa, in 2005.
