I am terrified of operations but Mr Bourke and his team were the BEST. No drama, no infection, the neatest, straightest scar and I can now stand and walk with my new knee - I am booking in for the other knee asap
I 100% trust Mr Henry Bourke (and only him) with treating my osteoarthiritis in both knees. I was told over 10 year ago (and by NHS) that my only option was/is to have full knee replacements. I was so glad i did not (and still do not) accept this diagnosis and requested a second opinion from the best knee specialist recommended to me all those years ago. I am proof that with a bit of TLC, good advice, keeping fit, eating healthy, keeping weight down etc there are alternatives out there that work without resulting in extreme surgery. Cannot thank you enough as you gave me my active life back and i would highly recommend you to anyone with similar problems. Thank You Thank You Thank You Jill
My Second half knee with My Bourke - first one 5 yrs ago which was/is excellent, this one with the aid of the Robot- back playing 18 holes of golf in just 6 weeks , fantastic so pleased!
Mr Bourke was professional as always he is someone you can easily talk to and he gave me all the relevant information regarding my surgery and recovery Thank you
Mr Bourke was excellent. Very clear in his analysis of my knee MRI and gave pragmatic and balanced advice in terms of rehab and running. Thoroughly recommended for knee related injuries or pain
Excellent level of professionalism, care and specialist focus.
I am walking properly for the first time in 18 months. I have some stiffness in my leg and the odd twinge but this is minor compared to the difficulty I previously had walking. The robotic procedure seemed to leave me with much less pain than I had expected after surgery. When I had my final meeting with Mr Bourke, he told me how pleased he was with my progress telling me at the same time that a full recovery would take up to 12 months. I have been very happy and relieved with the whole process and the care I received before and after the operation.
Mr Bourke has performed medial unicompartmental replacements on both knees - he is a skilled and empathetic surgeon who has given me a new lease of life, moving without pain. I was even able to return to riding my horse six weeks after each procedure.
I had been suffering with my knees for many years and it was decided I would have my knee replacements done one at a time. I had a stress-free stay in hospital with each knee due to Mr Bourke being an extremely skilled surgeon with an efficient team behind him. Mr Bourke is a true gentleman with an exemplary bedside manner and I would recommend him to anyone.
It is six months since I underwent knee surgery for osteonecrosis .... The pain I experienced vanished almost immediately and, thanks to Mr Bourke's skill and expertise of his physiotherapist, I was able to return to normal life after about six weeks. I now attend the gym three times a week and have resumed our walk along the South Downs Way. Having been in discomfort for over a year, I had begun to think my active life might be coming to an end. Thanks to Mr Bourke's successful intervention that is patently not the case!
