About Mr Harry Powell
Mr Harry Powell is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon practicing at the Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He also privately sees patients at London Bridge Hospital, The Portland Hospital for Women and Children and the London Clinic.
He completed his medical degree in London at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in 2003. He later undertook his surgical training in Bristol and specialist ENT training at a number of prestigious London teaching hospitals, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital and The Royal Marsden.
During this period he developed his expertise in both adult and child ENT conditions as well as skull base surgery, otology and neuro-otology.
Mr Powell was also awarded the Graham Fraser Memorial Fellowship and two advanced surgical training grants from the Royal College of Surgeons in auditory implantation and ear surgery. He completed this training in Sydney, Australia and developed an interest for endoscopic ear surgery.
He returned to the UK soon after and was first appointed as a Consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in 2016. He has expertise and special interests in all general ENT conditions (both adult and paediatric) including the following:
- Hearing loss
- Ear infections
- Tinnitus
- Vertigo and balance problems
- Sinonasal congestion
- Sore throat
- Voice problems
- Swallowing problems
He has experience performing a range of surgical procedures including endoscopic mastoid and middle ear surgery and auditory implant surgery.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Powell has published widely in the scientific literature surrounding his field of expertise and has authored three book chapters.

feel its taken a long time to get to the point i am at first seeing a welsh consultant who totally misdiagnosed me .mr powell has been very good . am having a procedure on the 11/2/26 hoping it will help some of my symptoms.

I have known him since training days as a very diligent and hard working trainee, friend and later as a consultant. I routinely refer him some of the complex otology cases and I have always received a positive feedback from the patients who see him. It is a pleasure to work with him.
