Mr Hari Sugathan

Mr Hari Sugathan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery. He completed his Trauma and Orthopaedic training in England and began his orthopaedic career in 2000, with training undertaken in the North East of England. He has worked with specialist foot and ankle surgeons in Glasgow, North London and the North East of England.

He completed a Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Stockport in 2015 and a travelling fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery in Lyon, France in the same year. He was appointed as a substantive Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust in September 2015, where he undertakes both elective and trauma surgery with a focus on foot and ankle conditions.

Mr Sugathan maintains a dedicated foot and ankle practice in Cheadle, with additional private practice at The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle and The Highfield Hospital in Rochdale. His clinical work includes the assessment and management of ankle sports injuries, ankle pain and arthritis, bunions, hammertoes, Morton’s neuroma, Achilles tendon disorders and plantar fasciitis.

He is involved in the training of foot and ankle surgeons and co-runs a fellowship programme in Stockport. He has an established academic profile with publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences. His work includes both clinical practice and orthopaedic research within the field of foot and ankle surgery.
