About Mr Eric Nicholls

As a children's surgery specialist for over 23 years and as a father of four children, Mr Nicholls has both sympathy and empathy with other parents and can appreciate their concerns when it comes to the care of their children. He has a special interest in neonatal, and gastro-intestinal surgery, as well as inguinoscrotal surgery and provides vascular access for long term parenteral nutrition, or chemotherapy.

Mr Nicholls performs appendicectomies, cholecystectomies and fundoplications laparoscopically when appropriate, and performs Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomies for assisted nutrition. The more common neonatal conditions he manages include Hirschsprung's disease, malrotation, atresias of the oesophagus, and bowel, and necrotizing enterocolitis.

Mr Nicholls is an examiner assessor for the Intercollegiate Specialty Board of Examiners in Paediatric Surgery. He is the Representative of the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons to the Royal College of Surgeons, is a member of Council of RCS and is chair of the Children's Surgery Forum. Mr Nicholls is a Senior Journal Article Reviewer with the Journal of Paediatric Surgery, a visiting lecturer at Imperial College London and an honorary Lecturer with St George's Medical School.
