About The Mae Clinic
The Mae Clinic is a private specialist hair-loss and hair-restoration clinic on Harley Street in London. The clinic is led by hair restoration and hair transplant surgeon Dr Eleojo Achimugu, MB ChB, BSc (Hons), MRCS, FEBPS.

Dr Achimugu and The Mae Clinic have experience caring for patients with straight, wavy, curly, coily and Afro-textured hair and for patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Treatment planning considers follicle shape, hair calibre and density, styling practices, donor-area characteristics, skin type and the individual risk of scarring or pigmentation changes.
Dr Achimugu also works with a wider multidisciplinary referral network of clinicians with advanced expertise in hair loss, hair restoration and related medical conditions. This collaborative approach supports patients with complex presentations and facilitates further investigation or specialist referral when required.
Children and younger patients can access age-appropriate hair-loss assessment, guidance and treatment. Hair-transplant surgery is considered only in carefully selected cases where it is clinically and age appropriate, following detailed evaluation and discussion with the patient and their parent or guardian.

Although I am saddened by my hairloss, it was a pleasure seeing Dr Eleojo and her PA in clinic. Dr Eleojo always gave me hope (by showing me updates of my hair growth journey) and provided me with alternative products which are safe for my scalp and encourage follicle new growth. I visited Dr Eleojo at The Mae Clinic because I was looking for a female hair transplant surgeon in London, as there are very few. I had been searching for a while and genuinely believed that a hair transplant was the next step for me. However, after carefully examining my scalp, Dr Eleojo advised me not to go ahead with the surgery. She identified that I have scarring alopecia and inflammation on my scalp something I had no idea about. I am honestly so grateful that I went to see her before proceeding with a transplant. She explained that we first need to address the root cause of my hair loss and control the inflammation and dandruff. She was very honest and reassuring throughout the consultation and explained that treating the underlying issue could potentially improve the thinner areas around my edges, meaning I may not even need a transplant. What really stood out to me was that she prioritised the health of my scalp rather than simply proceeding with the treatment I originally came looking for. Had I not gone to see her, I could have continued losing hair over the next few years without even realising what was happening. Scarring alopecia can be very subtle, and hair loss may not always be obvious until significant damage has occurred. Being diagnosed early has given me the opportunity to address it properly, and I am currently following the treatment plan Dr Eleojo recommended. I will also be having a complimentary follow up review in a couple of weeks to assess whether we have successfully reduced the inflammation and dandruff. I genuinely cannot recommend Dr E...

On arrival I was greeted warmly and offered refreshments. I was shown the restroom in case I needed to freshen up before my appointment as I arrived early.
