Mr David Baring

I am a Consultant in the Edinburgh department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. I am fully trained in all aspects of the specialty and see a broad range of Ear, Nose and Throat problems in the NHS.

My main sub-specialty training, gained in Glasgow as part of the West of Scotland Rotation and via a Fellowship at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (Yorkhill), was in Ear Disease and Paediatric ENT and this is now reflected in my NHS practice.

I run specialist clinics in vertigo, paediatrics (all ages), tinnitus and otology. Working with both Paediatric ENT and Adult ENT is of particular relevance in Ear disease as the approaches to disease alter with maturity and I am the only consultant providing this service on a regular basis in NHS Lothian. I am also developing an Adolescent service in ENT for the NHS to aid the transition from Paediatric to Adult care.
