About Mr Daniel Swallow
I'm a consultant urologist looking after men, women and children across my clinics in central London and Chelmsford. Whatever brings you in, my aim is the same: unhurried time to understand the problem, a clear explanation in plain language, and a plan you're comfortable with — delivered by the same consultant from your first appointment through to your last.
Most patients come to me with everyday urological concerns: troublesome urinary symptoms and an enlarged prostate, kidney and ureteric stones, blood in the urine, a raised PSA, recurrent urine infections, or scrotal and testicular problems. I investigate carefully, treat what can be sorted in clinic or day surgery, and I'm straightforward about when something needs onward specialist care — you'll always know where you stand.
Within general urology I have two particular specialist interests: the surgical treatment of urinary stones, using minimally invasive, laser-based endourological techniques, and surgery for benign prostate enlargement, including holmium laser enucleation (HoLEP). I teach on the Cambridge HoLEP course.
I qualified at the University of Cambridge, gained my urology fellowship (FRCS Urol) in 2013 and have been a consultant since 2015. I consult in English and French, and offer both in-person and virtual appointments.

Mr Swallow is an incredibly kind and courteous professional. Talking about sensitive topics such as Urology can make me feel really vulnerable, but I have never felt scared to enter that room. After many years of postrate problems including frequency average 24 times a day and bouts of uncontrolled bleeding. I met Mr Swallow discussed options and agreed to have a HOLEP procedure in July 2024. After an uncomfortable recuperation period and less than 100% continence for six weeks or so I'm delighted to confirm it has changed my life. No more constant worrying where I could find the next place for a pee, no more ensuring that I sat at the end of a row in the theatre on in a isle seat on a plane. If recommended to have a HOLEP procedure by Mr Swallow based on my own experience I recommend you follow his advice! Absolutely hesitation in recommending Mr Swallow!
