Mr Christopher Dawson

Mr Chris Dawson is a highly experienced consultant urologist based at the Fitzwilliam Hospital, Peterborough. He is widely experienced in all aspects of general urology with a specialist interest in urinary tract stones and urological oncology. He also sees patients with kidney cancer, prostate disease and cancer, testicular cancer, bladder cancer, as well as bladder, kidney and urinary tract disorders.

Mr Dawson has long experience in the field of urology and was a consultant urologist at the Peterborough City Hospital from 1996 until 2021. He was lead clinician of the department for 14 years, and then cancer lead up until 2018.

Mr Dawson gained his MBBS from University College London in 1986 along with an intercalated bachelor's degree in immunology. He then went on to become a fellow of the Royal College of surgeons in 1990 and spent time as a registrar in a number of hospitals in Portsmouth before completing his Master's Thesis in 1996. Following this, Mr Dawson co-authored the ABC of Urology whilst working at the Institute of Urology in London. He has also co-authored 'The Evidence for Urology' in 2005.

In addition to his post as a consultant urologist, Mr Dawson also carries out medicolegal work and is regularly asked to proved 'Fitness to Practice Reports' by the General Medical Council.

In his free time, Mr Dawson competes in triathlons including the Zurich Ironman which he completed in 2015 with a time of 14 hours and 40 minutes. He also holds a private pilot's licence and is a brown belt in karate and a black belt in aikido.
