Mr Bala Reddy

Mr Bala Reddy was appointed as Consultant Colorectal & General surgeon at the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in 2012. He did his speciality surgical training at the Yorkshire Deanery and Advanced Laparoscopic Colorectal surgery fellowship at Portsmouth with Prof Amjad Parvaiz.

His research interests include gut barrier function, nutrition in surgical patients and enhanced recovery after colorectal surgery. He was awarded the Moynihan Medal by the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland (ASGBI) in 2005 and the Syme Medal by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCS Ed) in 2007. He was awarded an MD (academic Surgery) by the University of Hull in 2008.

His clinical interests include advanced laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancers & diverticular disease, Colonoscopy & day case surgery (Hernia, Haemarrhoids, Anal Fissure & Fistula in ano).
