About
Mr Asif Haq is a Consultant Laparoscopic Colorectal and Minimal Access Surgeon based at Kings College Hospital. He specialises in bowel cancer and coloproctological conditions. He is also has exceptional expertise in revision abdominal surgery in particular incisional hernia repair using the minimal access approach, abdominal wall reconstruction and reversal surgery for stomas (ileostomy and colostomy).
Mr Haq graduated in Medicine from the National University of Ireland in 1990, before undertaking his surgical training in England. Following this, he completed specialised colorectal training in London and Canada. He was awarded the Sir Ian Todd Fellowship and the New York travelling fellowship for research by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. After completing his training, he undertook two prestigious Laparoscopic Fellowships
Mr Haq is passionate about teaching both nationally and internationally. He is a trainer for the national training program for laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery. He is also a member of the Network of Iranians for Knowledge and Innovation, traveling annually to hospitals in Iran to train and lead workshops for medical students and doctors.

Mr. Haq is a very professional and has been excellent throughout the process of my surgeries and the recovery period. He is very kind, caring, highly knowledgeable, brilliant at explaining things . I was instantly put at ease by Mr Haq and his up beat ,warm and friendly nature . He made me feel very relaxed from the get go . I was initially dreading discussing my issues but Mr Haq’s approach allowed for awkwardness to dissipate allowing for ease of conversation. His explanations of all things medical were simplified and communicated really well and thoroughly. With his wealth of knowledge and experience in his field and his confidence in what he does I left feeling very looked after and knowing that I was in the best hands. Thank you

Mr Haq is one of the nicest consultants I have ever met. The procedure he did seems to be successful as I have not suffered as a result and as it's internal that's my best judge of the treatment. He is utterly professional but personable and warm at the same time. He did not act as rushed as many consultants can be. Highest score!
