Mr Arun Kumar offers patients a professional and clear approach in all interactions. He provides thorough explanations for common procedures like hip and knee surgeries, which fosters confidence and puts patients at ease. His surgical expertise consistently results in excellent outcomes, enabling many to achieve pain-free mobility and an improved quality of life. The most common treatment reported is successful hip replacement.
My appointment was a follow-up eight weeks after receiving a fill replacement left hip joint, performed by Mr Kumar at the Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle. my recovery had been very satisfactory and I was able to walk easily from the carpark to the hospital without any walking aids. After my discharge I had used Codine Phosphate, reducing the dose to 2 tablets a day by day 5, and stopping them entirely by day 13 and I stopped taking paracetamol tablets after 17 days. The physio exercises proved very helpful and greatly helped improve my mobility progressively, and after 5 weeks I was only using a single elbow crutch when outdoors. My wound had healed very well and I felt there was nothing that I wanted to do that I could not do. My Kumar was pleased with my recovery and overall mobility, and suggested a few additional exercises. Looking ahead, the X-ray of my pelvis showed arthritis in my right hip (but not as severe as on my left hip), and Mr Kumar suggested he would keep this under review, initially by referring me through the NHS. It was a most reassuring visit.
Mr Kumar has been the surgeon who operated when I had the replacement of both knees and also my hip. All have had excellent outcomes and have enabled me to return to tennis and golf.
I was a bit apprehensive about the procedure but when I met Mr Kumar he put me at ease. He explained everything to me on my first visit. On the day of the procedure he came to see me before and after. I cant thank him enough for his professionalism and caring attitude and for helping me through what could have been a difficult time. Thank you.
I found Mr Kumar both professional and approachable. He was very experienced and didn’t make a drama out of my operationI liked his attitude towards what I could and couldn’t do. Would certainly not hesitate to recommend him .
I would highly recommend Mr Kumar. He carried out a left total knee replacement on me in October. He fully explained the procedure and aftercare in a clear and understanding manner. His care and empathy was second to none. I am now pain free, mobile and enjoying my day to day activities. I am truly grateful to Mr Kumar and all the staff at The Alexandra Hospital who all went above and beyond during my stay.
Very understanding and professional manner. Easy to talk to and explains everything very clearly and reassuring.
Excellent experience throughout my hip replacement journey. Mr Kumar took as much time as needed to explain the whole process and left me confident and in no doubt about going ahead with the surgery. The surgery went really well. Pain was less than I expected. The whole team were excellent. Thanks to Mr Kumar and the team for enabling me to regain my mobility and lead a fuller, active life.
Total left hip replacement. Short lead time after initial consultation to operation itself which was good due to the pain and lack of mobility. Everything was explained clearly by Mr Kumar and my end goals for the operation were listened to. Everything has gone very smoothly from the operation itself, all the nursing staff, admin, physio, etc
Back to back total knee replacement surgery is very daunting and not a great experience. Mr Kumar gave great guidance advice and support. It is a hell of a recovery journey, but in my view completely worth it to be rid of the pain and uncertainty of either knee giving way with a worsening diagnosis.
I have worked with Arun on number of occasions. I value his clinical and patient management skills.
