Mr Aravindan Narayanan

I am a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon, appointed at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust in 2016, and am the lead surgeon for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

I specialise in all aspects of general surgery, laparoscopic surgery and colorectal surgery, including hernia repair, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, haemorrhoid treatment (HALO and Rafaelo), anal fissure and fistula surgery, colorectal cancer surgery, inflammatory bowel disease and diverticular disease, as well as investigation for abdominal pain, lumps, rectal bleeding and changes in bowel habit.

I was a gold medallist at the Final MBBS and have had several peer reviewed publications and presentations in general surgery, as well as colorectal surgery. I undertook a laparoscopic colorectal fellowship with Mr N Reay-Jone at Lister Hospital, East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. I am also an examiner at Warwick University Medical School and a JAG accredited colonoscopy trainer with extensive experience in diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy.
